Client Login and General Errors

This page is dedicated to providing help for URDA client software problems.  If you do not see your problem addressed on this page, please send a description of your problem (at the time that your problem occurred) to pzeman@abvsciences.com.

The Most Common Error: Client Upgrade Required

This error is a little bit difficult to identify as things are currently setup.  If you are having difficulty logging into the server, try upgrading your client.  This will probably address most of the client login issues you will face (other than entering an invalid username or password). See the client download page: http://www.abvsciences.com/products/

Bad Username or Password while logging into server with the URDA client

If you are receiving this error message and have been brought to this web page there are three possible problems:
(1) you are entering your username and/or password incorrectly, or
(2) you have not provided us with your registration information via our website form, or
(3) we have not yet entered your registration information in our system.

Unable to Connect to Our Server using sFTP Client to Upload Your Data

If you are using sFTP to connect to our system, you must open port 22 on your firewall. If you choose to use the unsecure FTP standard, you must open port 21 on your firewall.  Please contact us if errors persist (pzeman@abvsciences.com).

Only 19 channels supported for the next week. Issue with edf conversion for some software packages

Some software packages store ‘extra’ non-EEG data in EEG channels above channel 19. To address this issue in the short term for persons, I have limited the number of channels to 19. This issue will be addressed next week.

Error Logging in via secure-FTP to upload your data to the server

I have noticed a few people have had difficulty uploading their files via their FTP software. Some helpful tips are:

- make sure you are using software that supports and has SFTP enabled.
- double check the username and password we have provided
- make sure you are attempting to copy your files into the directory: “/username@domain.com/” (use your username and domain of course). You can not place files in the directory called “/”

The server can not read find the files you have uploaded

Some users are not changing the name of their files to fit with the required standard on this system. For the software to appropriately distinguish between participant datasets and conditions, the required naming convention should be followed.

- make sure you are adhering to the required file format: sbNNN_tp_CCC.edf, where NNN = 001 for participant number 1, and CCC = 001 for condition1, CCC= 002 for condition 2, etc.
- for the next two weeks, we only support .edf files. Support for other formats should be available after the 15th of December 2010

Client Connects then Disconnects: I receive the message: “Too many clients connected”

We have imposed a limit to the number of connections our server will allow at one time. As the demand for services grows, we will upgrade our systems to handle more connections. If you are receiving this message, try again later.

The client appears to “hang” after I issue a command to process data

The server is designed to continually send the client status message indicating the progress of the data analysis. If the client appears to hang for more than 15 minutes, you may “reset analysis” and try again. If this persists, please contact us (info@abvsciences.com) and we will fix the problem.
